2. What the hell?? What does this video have to do with CFE?? Leave the creepy religious preachings out, pls.

5. there is gonna be a bunch of mad postings from this video. not from me though. it was weird, but it was all numbers and facts..ish. who knows what the world will be like. it makes you think about something you normally never would, that is for sure!

6. Ha! I knew this vid would piss some people off. Little did I know there would already be 3 people bummin' or runnin' (POSE?) the other way. I give it a thumbs up and my hats off to ya. Then again, maybe this is all a big joke to push some buttons. Either way, it's all good by me.

7. wow. just wow.
Comment by shariBaby — May 5, 2009 at 6:04pm
8. No doubt. How is it racist? Saying it's "racist" is a racist thing to say as it assumes you are talking about a "race" of people, so you seem to think of all Muslims as being a certain race. Isn't that a racist or at the very least a stereotype? Oh well. It's gonna be fun watching where this goes...
Comment by bburgultrarunner — May 5, 2009 at 6:08pm
9. youre gonna quit cause youre offended? its not like CFE loses money if you quit. you arent "getting them back". offer a counter point or something interesting. Does information hurt your feelings?
IS this your first time on the internet?

10. I for one welcome our new muslim overlords! While you are toiling in their underground sugar mines, I will be reporting the news!
Comment by Mommar al Jerkistan — May 5, 2009 at 6:22pm
11. It's not racist, it's not statistically incorrect, and there's nothing inherently wrong with the message. It just doesn't have anything to do with CFE -- nothing. Next time, find a more clever way to push buttons. Have a good one!
Comment by CJ — May 5, 2009 at 6:22pm
12. we've found that in posting thought provoking material we tend to do just that... create more thought. we post material virtually everyday based on CFE and studies that back it. Most goes un-responded too. So much like the last controversial topic we posted we wanted to see what the CFE world thought. I got this particular video twice in an email, and on the second turn, what the hell lets see what the rest of them think. Do I think we need to start breeding... I don't know. But, this piece along with anything either Islam or Christianity gets crazy on scares the shit out of me... All i can say, is God Bless the Mexicans!
Comment by bmack — May 5, 2009 at 6:30pm
13. Yall are funny. Who gives a shit if he posts a video on here that's unrelated, it's just a video. Usually does it all the time on rest days. Can't find links about running shoe research or why fat is good for you or why lsd sucks every single day. Keeps things interesting. Only thing that shocks me is I thought the mexicans were spreading by leaps and bounds, had no idea about the muslims. Dunno why yall are up in arms about it. Crazy.
Comment by J Turnage — May 5, 2009 at 6:37pm
14. #11 it is statistically incorrect because it wrongly extrapolates data (in this case birth rates) over the span of almost 25 years. Look at the difference in birth rates in America between 1955 and 1980. It also makes an assumption that Islam will expand at an equal level (or equal level of devotion) in children of Muslims - the entire theory banks on this. But children growing up in EU countries which are substantially more secular than America let alone Islamic republics would probably have their religious views diluted to a great degree by that exposure.

Back to running,
I'm leaving for USMC Officer Candidate's School in two weeks and was wondering if I should go into "maintenance mode" and hold back a little bit in the period leading up to six weeks of what I'm sure will be very intense exercise to avoid injury, or should I continue hitting CFE just as hard? (I apologize for this it seems like a novice question)

Thanks

15. I agree that this video has no place on a site like this. I think most of us just come here to get different ideas for workouts. We're not looking for unrelated fear-mongering. The video seems to assume that a rise in the percentage of the world that follows Islam would automatically be a bad thing. I think fundamentalism - coming from any religion - is more harmful than the rise of one over another. I'm sure that the vast majority of the Muslims living in Europe and the US - and the Middle East, for that matter - are moderates. Let's get back to working out; isn't that what makes us attractive and fit enough to reproduce anyway?

16. p.s. #12: "every day" is two words ("everyday" is an adjective). #13: Anyone who says "Yall" (sans apostrophe) would probably be slow to get it anyway. Crazy, alright! Happy Siete de Mayo!

Brendan o donnell- keep hitting it hard until the day you leave. take that day off. you arent gonna do shit for the first few days you are there and all you get is box nasties of sandwhiches to eat and sit in the classrooms for inprocessing and get your bucket issue. thatll be lots of time to recover before your pft. if youve been hitting cf and cfe pretty tough youll have no problems with the pt there. give it everything you have. they notice who doesnt go all out on pft.

23. Crossfit is not about politics. If this was a video regarding demographics, that would be fine, being aware of your surroundings is a beneficial thing. However this borders on a call to war against muslims. Let's stay away from the politics and get back to what we're here to do, revolutionizing fitness. Stick to the WODs and health articles, no more of this. Crossfit is an organization of class, Let's keep it that way.

24. i think what you all are missing is that controversial stuff like this promotes thought and discussion. those that get pissed off and say i am out of here or you suck or this is crap is likey immature and incapable of seeing there are many sides of the equation. it also means you are likely a liberal or uber conservative- both equally bad. this piece states some basic cultural and sustainability issues with respect to the continuance of a group of people... California will be dominantly hispanic by 2050- is that racist? wrong? worht saying i am not getting on this site anymore? or any other reaction? NO it is merely a stated fact (or liekly a fact) with soem empirical evidence one may be able to prove it. if you have a value system / personal beliefs that you feel will be muted or changed as a result of this, then you have a reason to be concerned... forget who put it out... it says what it says and if it is true, then fundamentally, as an american, you should be worried - if you are not- well then you are simply put an idiot! Have a great day!
Comment by mark w — May 5, 2009 at 8:09pm
25. #24 - Glad to see you're not being immature or incapable of seeing many sides of the equation by labeling those with different views than yours "idiots." Perhaps the message is going over some heads here. It's not the facts (if they are true) that are annoying, it is the way they are presented -- with quite sinister overtones and spokespeople like Gaddafi, not exactly one of America's sweethearts. It's the closing statement, however, that is the creepiest: "As believers, we call upon you to join the effort -- to share the Gospel message with the changing world. This is a call to action!" 3-2-1-Enjoy!

soooo. by the year 2025 90% of all Crossfitters will be Muslim? This video is freaky. all i know is i'm gonna try to make a baby tonight :-) , and if it doesnt work i'm gonna keep tryin! anyone that plans on abandoning their visits to CFE because of these videos shouldnt even be on this site. It is public information, available to anyone, just like a newspaper or Yahoo homepage. If Yahoo posted a newsworthy headline that offended you would you stop going to the homepage? ridiculous. The video was slightly disturbing, but thought provoking... come to the site, get your WOD for the next day, post your times! take it with a grain of salt, not all Germans are bad people, not all Muslims are bad people but like it or not there is a small movement out there, that likes to blow up buildings and airplanes and american people, and if they are mass producing as this video says, thats a bit scary. i am not a racist, i am a protect-ist. All the hari-krishna right wing liberalists that get offended by this can go plant another seed of hope in Irag where all of the "hero" wods are being manufactured....in case any of you have forgotten there is a real WAR going on in a couple of these muslim countries. and everyday there and strong, able, brave men, that fly over to fight in this war, and die in this war, so that we dont have another 9-11. The people that hijacked planes, killed 6000 people, and tried to take out the Pentagon werent jacked up misguided teens that got off their medication! (like Columbine) They were Muslims with a belief and a mission, and if they are procreating for the sole purpose of building their armies to get stronger and kill more people that dont believe in "Allah", that should be an eye opener. CFE didnt record, edit and produce the damn video, they are just putting it out there. those of you that cant take that, should go.
Comment by jesse blauer — May 5, 2009 at 10:20pm
27. #26 - Only one person said they aren't coming back -- I thought it's supposed to be thought provoking and inspire discussion. I guess you'd like that discussion better if you were the only one having it. And why on earth have you decided that those who disagree with you are all liberals? Not me. If Yahoo, or any other news page posted this video, it would be accompanied by some objective (or non-objective) comment to let readers know what their purpose was in posting it -- not letting people wonder if it represents their own thoughts or not. Plus, posting it on a NEWS site would make sense -- not in the comic strip or travel section with no explanation as to why. Lastly, the way you speak of Muslims above is reminiscent of the attitude toward "Japs" in WWII. Hey, we took care of that potential problem, didn't we, with the relocation camps. I'm just going to assume that you are not Muslim (duh), have no loved ones who are Muslims, and have probably not even ever met anyone who's Muslim -- when you think "Muslim," you just think "the fewer, the better." While you're busy making assumptions, is that what YOU'd like assumed? ok...have a good work out!

28. "CALL TO ACTION" - WHAT ACTION!!??? Should I grab a gun and go out shoot some immigrants/muslims ?? I Assume that is not the intent of the video/publishers. Should I make babies despite that my social/economic situation does not allow it? I assume not. Should I vote for a nationalistic/racist/rightwing party in the next election so we can stop/slow down immigration? Maybe that´s the intent. If it´s not the last one, I have very difficult to see exactly WHAT it is I am supposed to do. Please educate a poor Swede.
Take care

30. The video is certainly a bit over the top, thought for such an incendiary movie I'd expect a less jovial soundtrack. What is interesting is that the creator constantly refers to "culture" throughout the film. It is not until the end that we realize the movie is really talking about religion and Christiandom. As an American without religion I can tell you that there is far more to our culture than religion. I'd be fearful of any religious zealot in office, conservative Christians in this country already lobby for an end to science and preach about a woman's place in the kitchen. It a faulty assumption that every Muslim person is an undemocratic zealot, just like it would be to say every Catholic is an abortion clinic bomber and every Evangelist burns science books, It is not one religion that we should be worried about attacking our culture of freedom, it is all of them supplanting our rights and indoctrinating the free mind.
Comment by donny — May 6, 2009 at 2:48am
31. Thanks for the video. I got my laugh in for the day. The children of Muslims are not guaranteed to be Muslims or hold any of the same values that their parents do, especially when living in Western society and being educated at Western schools. How many people do you know who grew up in a conservative Christian family and don't hold any of the same values as their parents? Islam is growing as the dominant religion in Europe partly because Christianity is on the decline there - that's Europe's problem.
I consider myself a very patriotic and conservative American and Christian, but I've been living in a conservative Islamic country for the past few months and I'm able to see through the propaganda and see how silly this video is (not to mention the spelling mistakes in the video). There are others like me in America who treasure our American values, would die for them, and would never let them slip away. For that reason, this video does not worry me. How about this for a call to action - 321 go run!

Australia- The Right to Leave

After Sydney not wanting to offend other cultures by putting up Xmas lights.

After hearing that the State of South Australia changed its opinion and let a Muslim woman have her picture on her driver's license with her face covered.

This prompted this editorial written by an Australian citizen. Published in an Australian newspaper.

Quote:

IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It! I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.

However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the 'politically correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia .

However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.

This idea of Australia being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Australians, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle.

This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, Learn the language!

'In God We Trust' is our National Motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you
consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.

If the Southern Cross offends you, or you don't like 'A Fair Go', then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.

We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from.

This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this.

But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our National Motto, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom,

'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE!

If you aren't happy here then move on! We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted. Pretty easy really, when you think about it.

I figure if we all keep passing this to our friends (and enemies) it will also, sooner or later get back to the complainers, lets all try, please.

36. Anyone can use statistics in an attempt to prove a point - that doesn't mean its accurate though. For example, 86% of Americans are happy w/ their healthcare situation, yet there are approx 40 million uninsured Americans. You can argue either way. Stats don't tell the whole story nor does slightly bigoted speculation.

Comment by pjmon — May 6, 2009 at 5:31am
39. I'm not sure what was more entertaining the video....or the posts...First of all technically the Muslim religion is a peaceful one, its the radicals that make the image SCARY! Yet we have our scary radicals in this country as well. Secondly America has NO official language our forefathers were going to write it into the constitution but a large amount of signers were German and they didn't want to have to argue a national language so they left it out. So whatever you speak in this country is okay it just doesn't mean that we will always understand you. Thirdly, I like to see the hidden meaning behind propaganda and I have to agree I think the video merely points out that we need to start having more sex! Maybe its a new CrossFit Endurance regimine:) Thrusters or Snatches for time anyone!
Comment by Anne-Marie — May 6, 2009 at 5:49am
40. I had to watch it just because of all the outrageous comments--it's clearly fearmongering. Change is constant and many of "us" have a narrow minded view of who is "us" and who is "them." Let me go ask my Mexican wife and 4 kids what they think, lol! If anyone is truly interested in spreading the gospel (the stated purpose of the video at the end), this is done out of the love and grace of God, not out of fear.

41. Oh when I saw this post last night I knew this would light up!! It is like the video version of the 'dismount your bike photo' from the main site. Whatever - it is an opinion (backed by some stats - can any one of us actually read the blurry notes siting these?) set in motion by some one or some group with an agenda. Choose to agree or disagree. I choose to call it propaganda. Videos like this should be taken with a grain of salt but sadly there are those out there who would take this as a call to action and use it as a reason to incite violence against Muslims, which is plain wrong. I am not for this video for this reason. Information - true or not true - is dangerous. Nice post Bmack, get 'em fired up for the 10k. So instead, ill feel sorry for the narrow minded and xenophobes out there, take advantage of the work outs, and keep my eyes off the blogs and videos. You are right Myles - not worth my time.

45. first some wod reports - did a modified murph so i could mix intervals and cf. 1 mile on either end, half the reps for pull ups, push ups and squats but ran 400 in between each one. then went out to rotary park and worked a V4 traverse since it was so nice out. now the video - perhaps a bit misguided and it definitely is confusing race with religion but the message is still the same: get home and get some with the mrs or ms or whomever. Interesting though, at the last admin meeting at the school district i work at they addressed the fact that in roughly 10 years Weld County (CO) will have a majority latino/a population. Is this shocking, should I get up in arms that the mexicans are taking over? no, it just means they have a higher birth rate. If the muslim population has a higher birthrate too, then they'll be the majority at sometime somewhere as well. Whoopdedoo. oK, maybe the qadaffi (spellling?) character was a little creepy but i'm pretty sure he doesn't represent the majority of the muslim population. Oh and watch out for the mormon's, they definitely like to get busy in the sack - looks like muslims and the mexicans are going to have to gear up for some competition there. haha. two days to 50k madness! happy trails.

49. Josh, they stand for short course, long course and ultra course. If you don't have a particular race you are training for, stick with the short course. It'll allow you to work on speed moreso than the long course.
Comment by Bryan ACF — May 6, 2009 at 7:14am
50. Josh - SC, LC, and U stand for short course, long course, and ultra and are determined by the length of the even you happen to be training for. SC is anything under two hours, LC is between 2 and 3 hours and anything longer is U. If you don't happen to be training for anything in particular it's recommended that you stick with SC wod's but that is up to you. Also make sure to check out the left side of the home page, there's a wealth of info posted that will also help out. Hope that helps.

51. Justin-- by not looking at the articles or the forum you are missing a wealth of knowledge and information that would be very beneficial to add to what you are doing and add another dimension to your training/experience.
Josh-- SC= short course, LC = long course, U= ultra TT= time trial. Look in the legend on the left side for the times associated with each course.

52. Christianity is not a religion, it's a worldview or life belief. Saying it's a religion shows ignorance. It's like 2 people talking:
1. "I think freedom of speech should be stopped"
2. "I know, I hate politics and politians"

Freedom of speech is a life belief or a worldview on how we should construct our behaviors and MOST Americans believe this way, but it's not politics or for politicians, it's something that we view as crucial to freedom. Christianity believes certain things, but that doesn't make it a religion. A religion is Catholic, Muslim, Mormon, Lutheran, Jehovah's Witness. Do I believe in these religious views? None. Am I a christian? Yes!

Things constantly change and to project humanity or predict never works or we'ld all have gotten out the stock market a year ago. You can't predict future results based on current events although you can be destined to make the same mistakes. Unfortunately we are heading toward a fascist German/French type of government and we are seeing it in England. Australia is seeing it as well, but the PM/President had the balls to tell immigrants to get out if they don't want to conform to Australian culture. Our presidents haven't had the balls to do it since WW2. I grieve for our brave military put into harms way in disguise of fighting "terror". If terrorism was what our government wants to "prevent" they need to bring those boys home and start shooting and killing "domestic terrorists" ie. gangs, low level mafia gangs, drug dealers (what war on drugs). F@#%$ clean up our F#@#$% streets and get rid of pedophiles so I can let my kids ride their bikes 3 miles to friends houses like I did when I was a kid, without fear of being kidnapped, killed, molested, raped or given some addictive drug.

Great Post BMac!

If you're going into or in the military or policing, stay safe and thank you for what you are doing!

55. I was glad to see that others were also disturbed by this video. I wish I had a good way of explaining why this video is so hateful, but it seems that those who don't understand are speaking a different language. Further, those European demographics are factually inaccurate. Muslim populations and birth rates are not that high. Just because it is in a youtube video with a creepy announcer does not make it true.

Shame on you, Bmac for posting this.

56. Hahaha I don't think whoever posted that video was purely interested in provoking thought. Clearly they miscalculated how many "like minded" individuals they were surrounded by. Like dropping the N-bomb in a conversation and then realizing that your at the water cooler, not your klan rally. Embarrassing at best, downright evil at worst. Upon seeing the video I was heartbeats from un-bookmarking CFE. After wandering into the comments and seeing how many grown ups there were denouncing said propaganda I've reconsidered.

CFE, please stick to CFE and not try to "provoke" anyone's thoughts. All you're going to do is lose good members.

P.S. I am also sick and tired of people invoking our fallen soldiers to punctuate their statements. Do not tarnish their memories by attaching them to your personal views, whatever they may be. They are above all of that now. There is no left/right, conservative/progressive, politics/religion for them anymore. Honor them for their ultimate sacrifice and do them the service of leaving them out of our petty, mortal conflicts.

Thank you

Thank God for the Mexicans, and the fact that I live in Southern California, where I have grown up speaking a dialect of the Spanish/English language. We call it, Spanglish! 60. just read some of the comments...people think it's no big deal if western nations turned islamic...it just highlights how clueless people are about what happens in an islamic society. If you wanted to convert to another religion, do you think it would be acceptable to be killed for that decision? Do you think it's acceptable to kill gays? Do you think women should have virtually no rights and have to cover themselves as property, even with just a scarf? Do you think it's acceptable to kill Jews? Do you think you should be killed if you wanted to criticize Islam in anyway (ie, the Netherland stabbbing)? WAKE UP PEOPLE. This is one thing we should NOT be politically correct about. Everyone says, oh, Islam...that's a religion of peace --- well bullshit! They are peaceful until they have a majority in a country, then it'll all go to hell. WAKE UP

So should I continue on the CF 3 on 1 off Schedule with 3 Days CFE and 1 to 2 Rucks (I do Time trials no more than 2 hours with absolutely no ruck running anywhere from 55-75lbs). How should I Scale down? Also as a test should I do a Crossfit Total here shortly and then do one afterwards to note the effects of a 3 week thrash fest in the body.
To see how much is dropped from the abrupt change in diet and tremondous work load that my body will be put through it will also be a testament of how this system can HOPEFULLY work for courses Like SFAS since most of it is mental any way. any input is greatly appreciated.

69. Lordy, lordy. I saw the WOD and went right to the comments without even seeing there was a video posted. I thought, "Wow so many people did a TT today, I can't wait to see the times." After reading the comments, I went back and watched the video. I find #40 to have the most insightful comment. I don't think that posting the video is, in and of itself, an endorsement of its point of view (and I really don't think anyone can say with a straight face that it's "just the facts" and doesn't have a point of view) or a bad thing. Posting it to a public forum gives those that disagree an opportunity to point out its flaws, philosophical and factual, as many have done. In fact, the poster invites us to "post thoughts to comments." Dialogue can never be a bad thing in my book. Just one CFE newbie's two cents.

If you are hanging out on the CFE site, chances are you were like me and got sucked down the LSD path due to a) trying to emulate some genetic freak you had no business emulating, or b) followed the advice of books, magazines, experts etc. with out asking hard questions of either, like why?, why? why? why? why? why? *********** Forging Elite Fitness means working hard physically, but it also means being uncompromising in the intellectual pursuit of what is the best way to train. To do this we need to: read, listen, & watch lots of fitness information; think very hard about that information; then discuss that fitness information privately and in public - it should hurt our brains with all the thinking we do about Forging Elite Fitness. ************* We must continuosly work at thinking, CrossFiting our brains so they are as Powerful, Strong, Flexible, Accurate, Long Lasting, etc as possible. In this case, the challenge was to watch, think and then discuss a thought provoking topic. Take this for what it was - an interval for your brain...To BMack, Carl & the rest of the CFE community - keep thinking!!!

73. CJ-

People like you crack me up. Do you know anything about Muslims? Have you studied the Qur'an? Just a shot in the dark here, but you voted for Obama didn't you (I know that's off subject but you seem like the majority of the self-proclaimed "intellectual elitists" that supported Obama and should have known better)? Islam is not a religion of moderates. True, all Muslims are not fundamentalists, but real Muslims are also NOT moderates. Let me ask you this. How many Muslims do you know that openly condemned the 911 attacks? I have seen many Muslim leaders try to skirt the issue in a PC way, while being interviewed on TV, but I saw not one single Islamic leader openly condemn the attacks. Isn't that a bit strange considering the "90 percent moderate" comment that was made on here? Muslims believe it is their destiny to take over the world and basically eliminate all of us "infidels". If by moderate you mean that some choose to accomplish this mission by breeding instead of killing, and that is supposed to make me feel comforted, I think you need to rethink your stance. I've got news for you that hopefully will help you wake up (doubtful considering your condescending tone and self-appointment as the grammar sheriff). If we stand by (by we, I mean non-Muslims) thinking that they are going to mind their own business (as a group and not as individuals) and live and let live forever, things are going to get very bad. Oh yeah and there is a huge difference between generalizing people based on religion and generalizing them based on race (i.e. Japanese during WWII). People of the same race do not necessarily share the same beliefs, views, ideas, etc. People of the same religion often do.

It is really a shame such a video has been posted on a site like this.

77. Really wished that video would have cited sources. (I guess they do but you can't really read it)

Pulled from the Guardian U.K.
The average American woman has 2.1 children in her lifetime, the most since the early 1970s, with women of Hispanic origin having the highest rate - almost three children per woman.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/mar/18/birth-rate-us-baby-boomers

From the Washington Post (a little dated):
The overall fertility rate increased 2 percent between 2005 and 2006, nudging the average number of babies being born to each woman to 2.1, according to the latest federal statistics. That marks the first time since 1971 that the rate has reached a crucial benchmark of population growth: the ability of each generation to replace itself.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/12/20/AR2007122002725_pf.html

and what would the C.I.A. know about anything?
Total fertility rate: 2.05 children born/woman (2009 est.)

Religions: Protestant 51.3%,
Roman Catholic 23.9%,
Mormon 1.7%,
other Christian 1.6%,
Jewish 1.7%,
Buddhist 0.7%,
Muslim 0.6% (which is equal to roughly 1,843,272 people), but the video said there were 9,000,000...hmm....that's quite a discrepancy.
other or unspecified 2.5%, unaffiliated 12.1%, none 4% (2007 est.)

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/us.html

For whatever reason that video was posted, I think the aim was met. In its original context it's nothing but pure propaganda and fear mongering. If it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck…

I think the white evangelicals are safe for now.

I'm not sure why that would matter though...should I assume you voted for McCain? Who cares? Another good guy. But I do appreciate you're noticing my self proclaimed grammar superiority -- nothing to call myself "sheriff" about -- just common English that every educated person should know.

82. Firstly, this sight belongs to Brian, and he can post anything he wishes. If you don't like videos or articles that don't have anything to do with running and endurance sports, then don't watch/read them. Its really that simple. Furthermore, the condescending attitudes and personal insults that permeate these posts are awful. If you are that offended by the material posted or the posts it generates, then you ought take a step back, go for a run or something (no pun intended).
Now, I'm not going to pretend I know too much about Muslim culture or global demographics; however, I would dare to say that any form of fundamentalism (Christian or Islamic) is dangerous. Fundamentalism represents a narrow-minded point of view and is best combated through education. I recommend the book "Three Cups of Tea" to anyone who is interested in how education is making a difference in regions of the world where fundamentalist religious views are culturally dominate.

86. xenophobic crap. Not only is the data pretty debatable, this is the same argument a lot of Protestant churches were arguing in the early 1860's during the Irish Potato famine, and later in the early 1900's. The theory being that with a huge influx of Catholic immigrants which averaged a lot of kids per family, the US would be a Catholic state by 1950. All pretty much bs. The whole "no culture can survive x birthrate is pretty much crap (I'm not even sure how they would get that figure). And the math seems flawed. Yes, Christians are having less kids, but it will take longer than 50 years. Plus it doesn't take into account that the children of immigrants usually (especially in America) adopt the main cultural values of their country rather than their parents. A kid of Muslim immigrants will see himself as an American.

87. I am not sure what makes me want to throw up more...the liberal vein of acceptance on this board that is a microcosm of our society or the just weak nature of many of the participants. In an effort to accept everybody we deny ourselves and who we are. I blame the Islam and Muslims for the 9/11 attacks and the terrorist attacks going on around the world. And the practice of these people having hoards of kids, like rabbits, is ridiculous. Maybe if these people found some other hobby or diversion, other then procreating, we might have a chance. Imagine if we had our TV's, movies, books and internet taken away and the only joy we knew was knocking up our wife, who by culture is trained to not speak or think, then things might be different. Keep turning a blind eye and make believe that that the followers of Islam are peaceful and dont want to cause us harm. They hate our way of life and want nothing more that to watch us perish. I will be stepping over your dead carcasses once this war is being fought on the streets of Any Town, USA. And why is that war coming to a neighborhood near you? Because of these naive vision that everyone should be accepting and nobody wants to bring death and destruction upon us. Did you notice how everyone is peaceful and accepting when the war is not being fought in your backyard. Your tune will change when front lines are mark outside your front door. Someone stated earlier that they wanted to leave CFE because of Bmack posting this video...i want to leave CFE because of the people participating. I am disgusted that a style of training steeped in our military would attract so many left wing kooks. Probably the same people who believe in gun control and Muslims are just peaceful people that love their judo christian brothers. Yuck.

89. Mickey, Micheal, I'm going to have to call bullshit. First you say that Islam inherently violent. Pretty blanket statement. I'm not gonna spout "the Koran teaches peace" bullshit that hippies fall back on. The Bible also teaches peace and Christians have more than a few black eyes in that regard.

But think for a moment. Your basically saying that Muslims are immigrating to America to slowly gain the population majority as "sleeper cells", then unleash themselves on our country and overtake it to establish a Muslim state. This means a bunch of Muslim families who "hate our way of life" decide that uprooting themselves from their homeland and families, move to the land of their sworn infidel enemies to subvert it from within. Their kids somehow manage to block out the influence and culture of the very country that they have grown up and stick completely to the Jihadist teaching of their parents. And this happens for generations. And this makes sense to you?

That's the beauty of our public school system. Hard to hate America and all we stand for when you take 12 years of federally mandated classes telling you how freaking awesome we are The "liberal agenda" only applies to college and maybe high school. Grade school is still a long jerk off to how awesome George Washington and his Constitution crew are. Kids are kids. They're gonna grow up worrying about their friends and when the next Playstation game is coming out.

Could Muslims keep to themselves and sustain a love for whatever country they're from? Maybe. All immigrant demographics have done this. But they never sustain it for more than 1 or 2 generations. The people in them become successful and move out, their kids get jobs elsewhere. They become a new flavor in that melting pot theory your teacher was rambling on about in 3rd grade.

90. And since I forgot one thing. Keep in mind religious beliefs, just like any idea or action, is open to Americanization. St. Patrick's day used to be an important Catholic religious day and a celebration of Irish solidarity. Now its an excuse to get blasted drunk on a weekday. Cinco de Mayo is probably headed down the same route. And one parting point, high immigration here is a GOOD THING. It shows that no matter how tumultuous the Middle East is, there's still a lot of people who think highly enough of America to want to move themselves over and live here. you don't move your livelyhood to a country if you hate it. Big reason why I'm not renouncing my citizenship and moving to Canada

91. This idea that Muslim will conform to western values and assimilate into American society without retaining much of their oppressive beliefs is delusional. You only need to look at the Netherlands to see what will happen. Once Muslims reach a substantial majority, they will establish their own law, the western rule of law and freedom of speech will be gone. Really, I mean it, do some research on what's going on the Netherlands, it might open your eyes. I live in DC, there are a ton of Muslim immigrants here. I have Muslim friends, some are still practicing and some have converted to other religions (but only a few). The idea that they do want to change America into a Muslim nation is NOT crazy.

These videos are created by people with an AGENDA and most of the time a PREJUDICE. *sigh* Looks like a "Muslim bad, christian good" statement to me. It doesn't, however, take into account the growing number of people around the world that are classifying themselves as agnostic. If you take this number into consideration it merely maintains the ratio of Muslims to non-Muslims... and hopefully will result in the abandonment of all religion. 2) Damn lies
3) Statistics

This isn't thought-provoking at all. It's just a bunch of contextless numbers thrown together to scare the shit out of gullible people. If you want to read something thought-provoking (not incendiary) about demographic change, try this: http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/pgda/working/working_paper1.pdf. And to clear things up in advance: No, Harvard is not some effete bastion of the left wing. Harvard is a bastion of the status quo, which is conservative almost by definition. The article might not be as fun as "HOLY CRAP THE MOHAMMEDANS ARE GOING TO WIN AND ALL THE GOOD CHRISTIAN CHILDREN WILL HAVE TO PRAY TO MECCA OR THE BAD MEN WILL COME CUT THEIR HANDS OFF ACCORDING TO SHARIA LAW IT'S TRUE I SWEAR!" but it's a lot more worth your time.

99. Now I'm just wondering what's "the call of action" for? Let's get to fuckin more or kill all arabs/muslims? This is blantly racist because it asumes all muslims have the same intrest and act as an entity rather then beeing millions of people from all aspects of life you can't compere an Istanbul urban secular mulsim with an orthodox rural muslim from the outskirts of let's say Libanon or to a born-again western wahabi muslim.
A lowerbirth rate is the natural reslut of progression. When there is no longer a reason to have kid's as a retirment plan or to inherit the farm you don't get that many kid's any more. Thus muslims will become secularised because a lot's of kids means lot's of headache and when there is no apperant reason for having lot's of kids people wount.
Now asuming that a people or people of an entire religon all act the same, look the same and breed the same have been pushed in history aswell. That time the jews where the object of hate nowadays it's the muslim - same hate different victim.

100. The funniest thing of all thou is that they're flying the Turkish flag (with the halfmoon in reverse) wich is one of the most secular contries in the world where hijabs (headscarfs) are forbiden to wear in instutues of the goverment such as courts, univeristies etc.
Just comes to show how ignorant racist are

102. The issue is that the muslim religion is not really a religion at all. it is a political system that dictates every aspect of the indiviual's life to them. this "religion" can not coexist with a western society based on individual liberty. look at the impact on the various european political systems by the muslim political influence. i dont want to lose my liberty for any reason or to any political system.

103. Muslim scholar " While it is true that not every muslim is a terrorist, it is true that almost every terrorist is a muslim." Wake up people!! Sharia law is already in action in some parts of the UK. Political correctness and liberal views will be the demise of our great nation.

105. WOW-a liberal who can self-diagnose, Berkeley must have higher standards now, or did Perez Hilton and his scholar peers give you the IQ of then British PM Neville Chamberlain? People like you encompass this saying by Sir Edmund Burke" The only thing necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing." Besides that keep the great WODs coming bmack and thanks for the stimulating topics.

106. Spicoli, I am NOT a liberal. I'm a middle of the road-er who went to a midwest university. Hell, I didn't even vote for Obama, who I'm sure you classify as Satan. I'm just someone who can't stand black and white statements like liberal=evil / conservative=godly. Open your mind. Where's the Spicoli we all know and love? ...and I agree, thanks for the WODs and stimulating topics, bmack.

107. LMFAO @ conservatives and their "change is scary" mentality. Big pussies. To those who say the video isn't racist, the same logic was used to prohibit interracial marriage.

"BMack" will be happy to know that Africa has the highest fertility rate. Flash a gang sign dawg!

Same arguments were made against the Catholic church when Kennedy was running for President.

110. "Muslim Demographics"

See a debunk of those faked video (although funny, especially the 8.1 children/woman fertility rate of Muslims in France) in Tiny Frog, Muslim Demographics, 2009-05-03, Duncan Macleod, Muslim Demographics on YouTube Abuse of Statistics, 2009-05-11, Steve Letendre, Muslim Demographics Debunked, 2009-05-26, Richard Abanes, Muslim Demographics - A Christian Response, 2009-06-27.
